Elm Cafe offers a relaxed atmosphere, excellent menu, and boutique wine list. There is a beautiful sheltered garden courtyard at the front of the cafe, with colourful potted plants, and you can enjoy Ozone coffee either indoors or outdoors. Anna the head chef is also the owner, and has built up a reputation for great food and friendly service. Elm Cafe is a popular venue for weddings, private functions, special celebrations, or work get-togethers. 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2012 Manawatu Hospitality awards -Cafe of the year - Winner (4 yrs in a row!) Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner Tuesday to Saturday 7.30am until late Sunday & Monday 7.30am to 5pm Fully licensed with BYO wine & the option on non-alcoholic beverages.

I love this cafe and the outdoor area. The food is delicious and nice location to the esplanade.

Love coming to The Elm. Great out of the central city location. A favorite has to be the tasting plates and the Pan fried fish, saffron prawn beurre blanc, potato lyonnaise, spinach, lemon i will definitely be having this again soon.

Had a nice coffee and cabinet food here a while ago. Service was friendly, lovely atomosphere, but food was a little slow to come out.

Had lunch here with my partner. Waitress said almost everything on the menu could be done gluten free. This was not the case, only very few items that could be. Food was not that great tasting. Seems they have a lot of frozen, pre prepared food, instead of making fresh.

Good espresso and bruschetta at a reasonable price. Enjoyable outdoor setting. Shame this little gem is not open for dinner.
