Star & Garter Restaurant

Unfortunately both times we have chosen to eat here it has been on a very quiet evening so there was a bit of lack lustre and it made us feel a little uneasy having the whole place to just us 2. However, that aside the staff were friendly, and the food was amazing, we were unsure as to why each time we go it is empty.

Great little pub, we stopped in for dinner while on our weekend getaway. We both had the steak meals- they were cooked just how we like it..med-rare they were big fat steaks with lots of flavour. Good atmosphere they had the game on and it was a good spot to stop.

Had a fantastic roast this evening, great service nice staff. Have booked my table for tomorrow night. Did not have to wait long. High level of cleanliness & the chief was keen to see how I liked my meal. Great value for money

Great service and food. Went for lunch, then returned the following day to try the dinner menu. There were 9 of us and the food arrived all at the same time. Gluten free requests were catered for too, which was a bonus! Presentation of food was also good.

Lovely little casual restaurant with classic meals. Great range of gluten free options (including desserts!). Delicious fish and chips. Great atmosphere.
