Star & Garter Restaurant

Absolutely love the meals here! As soon as we walked through the door the service was brilliant and friendly, we hadn't booked a table but they were happy to show us to one to eat. My partner had the lamb chops in a large and I had a chicken enchilada. Everything was cooked perfectly with good flavours and the portion sizes are incredibly generous for the price of the food!! We had no room left for dessert but from experience we know the deserts are just as delicious! The atmosphere is nice, as is the art work around the place and the wedding reception photos too.

Stopped here for lunch, had the blue cod and it was superb. The fish arrives daily in the morning, you can't bet a fresh bit of blue cod. Excellent.

Great little pub, we stopped in for dinner while on our weekend getaway. We both had the steak meals- they were cooked just how we like it..med-rare they were big fat steaks with lots of flavour. Good atmosphere they had the game on and it was a good spot to stop.

Set in a beautiful part of oamaru, food is amazing. Staff are excellent. Warm and inviting restaurant. Have visited for lunch and a large family meal. Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic roast this evening, great service nice staff. Have booked my table for tomorrow night. Did not have to wait long. High level of cleanliness & the chief was keen to see how I liked my meal. Great value for money
