The Fitz

My grandmother has always enjoyed a Sunday roast so thought it would be a nice change to go and dine out where someone else makes the traditional Sunday roast and she can simply relax. Tasty meal with a pleasant atmosphere even better the Fitz offers Gold Card meal deals so my nana and her friends can enjoy a cheaper meal together here.

Great place for partying, amazing choice of drinks and affordable in price. I love the ambiance of this place.

The worst meal I've had in New Plymouth since Sunworld. Didn't ask how I wanted steak cooked and then overcooked it. Didn't bring us water - we had to ask twice. Acted like it was a mission to replace hot chips with salad or order a side salad in addition to a starter for a meal.
Burger patties were dry (overcooked). Hot chips over-salted & oil seemed old. Salad dressing was condensed milk and tasted like sugar poured over lettuce. Salad included lettuce, a couple slices of tomato and thick grated carrot with grated block cheese (package bought). No onion or capsicum. No choice of dressing. Staff seemed surprised customers might like a choice or to be told what dressing was.

Seafood platter was frozen from the packet. This is a coastal city. We avoided it accordingly.

My husband and I popped in as had half hour spare. Lovely coffee and the scones were delicious. Service was spot on and will defiantly go back.

Toddled along for Tuesday quiz night. It packed out - best book a table if you're considering it. Very limited tap range for such a big bar. Grabbed a couple of items from the bar menu. Nachos were good, chips not so much. Convivial atmosphere.
