Bijou eliot is an interiors store with a difference. Owner and designer Carol Thompson¿s approach to interiors is playful, but elegant; fearless and instinctive. An eclectic mix of antique, vintage and contemporary items fill the space. Floral drapery becomes the backdrop to polycarbonate 'Bloom' Kartell lights, while gnomes present the reader with stacks of books. Vivid colour is injected with lighting and accessories, contrasting against muted hues. Here, antiques are not fragile or too precious, but part of the hustle of the everyday. Minimalism is banished from this expressive and meaningful collection of art and object! Established in 2012, bijou eliot was originally located in a space on the corner of Pendarves and Eliot Streets in New Plymouth. It has now moved to larger premises, located on Currie Street in New Plymouth¿s CBD, in order to house its extensive stock and international and inspiring fabric and wallpaper library.
