Excellent food and service at this lovely old house . Crispy salmon on a wonderful salad . Able to look around the historic house afterwards.

Great place for lunch, coffee is nice, sometimes slower than food though. Staff are always lovely

The only reason this is so low is because of the terrible service received. I was dining alone and was ignored - the only reason I didn't leave was that I had been dropped off and was very hungry. Took over 20 minutes to be brought a menu, then over 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there and took my order. All those around me were served promptly and checked on often - I watched several couples arrive, be seated and served, then leave before I got my food. I spoke with the manager, who discounted a drink for me for the poor service, but it was the worst dining service experience I had ever had. When the food finally arrived it was delicious and beautifully presented, but no food could have made up for the lack of service.

Beautiful venue for a wedding reception..............we had a great time. Beautifully furnished stately house right in the middle of Nelson. Great staff, reasonable prices and magnificent grounds. Recommended.
