A relatively busy place on Central Christchurch. We came here twice for the Salmon Sushi & Sashimi. It was so fresh and buttery, melted in your mouth. The rice on my Chirashi Sushi was a bit hard however but not a big deal.Highly recommended and will be back try more.

The Sakimoto Japanese Bistro served delicious and affordable food. I recommend the prawn wonton twisters!

We absolutely love the small plate/tapas style of dining here as it makes it so easy to try a little of everything seeing as their entire menu is all fantastic
But make sure you book

Very authentic place: Japanese interior, Japanese staff, 5 stars Japanese service and taste of Japan. Squid, miso soup, grilled fish, salads - every dish is full of flavour and super delicious. Portion size allows you to try different dishes at once. The place is small and always full of nice quiet people. Would go there every day if I could.

I am VERY fussy when it comes to Japanese dining, having worked in a top sushi restaurant in the UK, and this is my favourite place in Christchurch :) The quality and portions are excellent for the price. Faultless service, with a strong focus on dietary requirements and allergies of guests (which is much appreciated). Love that they offer BYO! Using the bathroom requires a small adventure across Cathedral Junction, but this is a minor inconvenience. Overall, a great place for a relaxed dinner to enjoy some delicious Japanese cuisine.
