Lava Bar The

First it looked like a really nice place and we went there with a lot of people from our Hostel, but after dancing a while and enjoying the club I was thrown out because, as the bouncer said, I was."too intoxicated". Had a few beers, enjoyed dancing and then this. First I was told I could get in in a few minutes but As I was waiting for ages and thrown out again I realized quickly that this was just a lie. My friends left with me and because I could not hear what the bouncer was saying so I followed him as he was pulling me out of the crowd only to realize that I was about to be thrown out. I didn't argue of course because I didn't want things to get worse and I did nothin,g wrong.
Well, to summarize it, it is the worst place I ever partied at and that's definitely not a way to treat customers who want to enjoy their evening. Stuff like this never happened before to me. I would recommend not going there. It is not worth the money especially not compared to how customers are treated.
I had a really nice time in Rotorua but this evening I was really disappointed and did not expect that to happen to customers.
Don't go there, you'll probably regret it. You have been warned.

A weekend away with the lads; ofcourse we were looking for somewhere to experience the night life in Rotorua. I had mixed reviews from the locals, more bad than good I would say but it seemed to be the only proper club. We only spent about half an hour in the club until we were kicked out by security guard for being too 'intoxicated'. After lengthy conversation with one of the hosts turns out they had got us mixed up with another group yet the security guards would not let us in and proceeded to try and intimidate us by telling us they would fight us on the road. I would suggest heavily not to visit this place, save yourself the trouble.

Drinks can be quite expensive but drink deals are good, great atmosphere early in the night, bar food was good

Always pumping with people having a good time, mean vibes & beats. Love going out for a drink there, it's the place to be in rotas :)

Lava Bar has definitely changed since my first visit when i was 18, the vibe there now days is so different, i feel too old!! some drink deals they have are good but sometimes are a bit pricey. all in all it is a great place to go and hang out with mates and dance
