This was our must go to place whenever we went to Christchurch but our last experience there was very poor! The meal was amazing as always but the service really let them down. People on either side had eaten and left by the time our meal arrived, and that was after we found a waitress to ask. We asked for another wine glass as my husband decided to have a wine, but before we could pour him a wine another waitress grabbed it off the table and walked off with it. Has it changed ownership?

My favourite Italian restaurant ever!! Renowned for it's amazing pasta dishes, good value for money as the portions are sufficient, good atmosphere and great staff!

Welcoming, friendly & helpful staff. Great food & atmosphere. We love Cafe Valentino. The lack of parking in the area is a problem for us, especially with elderly family members. This is no fault of Cafe Valentino.

We loved the squid starter and the sea food pasta. The price is up there for the quality of food you get.It’s suggested you book as it gets full very quick

I recently came here and although the food was quite good, the service was horrible. So initially there was a long piece of hair found in my partner's drink and we called the waiter and told him about it, however he didn't even acknowledge, apologize or say that he would bring in a new one straight away. He just stood there and said nothing until we actually asked for a new one. He took it like we were ordering, there was no sign of being sorry from him. And lastly, the lady who was at the counter to pay, she didn't even acknowledge us and literally just put the receipt in front of us and said literally nothing at all. I'd expect a fine restaurant like this to at least ask how everything was, and maybe just saying how much it comes to when we are paying? Didn't even say goodbye to us even when we said it to her as we finished the payment. She looked as if she just didn't want to be there. Myself being in a customer service job, I found it very disappointing coming here. And although the food was quite good, would not want to come knowing the service is this bad. I hope you train your staff well enough and know what service they are providing.
