      We go there Thomas ride once a year at least. It is a nice vintage atmosphere there. The scenery is great. You can see pretty part of the country. There is a plenty space to park.

      The train rides from Glenbook are lots of fun. The prices are reasonable and the experience of travelling on a vintage train is amazing. Sometimes they take trains outside of Auckland. Recently they came up north and left from the newly renovated Whangarei Train Station. Two rides were on offer. They went out to the Port of Whangarei and also through Whangarei's town centre and up past Kamo. Beautiful scenery, fun waving out to the shoppers waving from the pavement. If there's one thing you need to experience, it's a vintage train ride. Highly recommended.

      Don't forget to check the operating days and times before you go - as they don't run all year round!
      However a fantastic day with the kids to catch a steam engine; and also look at all the ones they've got at the workshop (where they stop partway through the journey).

      Keep a look out for the Thomas the Tank Engine Weekend if you've got kids into Thomas; otherwise avoid that weekend for your visit ;-)

      Would be great to see Auckland Transport run the 'special line' out to them from Papakura more often!

      The train rides from Glenbook are lots of fun. The prices are reasonable and the experience of traveling on a vintage train is amazing. My husband loves trains and always loves a trip out to see them. Thomas the Tank Engine days are great to take the grandchildren to as well as the train they have animals they can interact with.
