Hanmer Springs Retreat

Huge rooms but very basic accommodation. Bathroom wasn't overly clean and paint was coming off the walls. There are other places I would rather stay at in Hanmer for around $20 - 30 more per night.

Good thermal pools, glad to see them making improvements, nice sauna and steamroom, overall well worth the visit but not too often

Great place to stay, clean, comfortable bed. Friendly greeting at reception. The only thing that was missing, was a plug in the bathroom. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Have stayed with Hanmer Springs Retreat multiple times. Everytime have had a great stay, very clean and tidy rooms. Good price for what you get.

Stay wasn't great at all. Upon arriving we had to ask for the bed to be remade with fresh linens as there was hairs and stains all over it. The bed itself was not a double, but 2 singles pushed together, 1 higher than the other which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. We were under the impression that the rooms had sky TV, which was semi true, there were 2 sky channels and 3 normal channels, 1, 2, and 3. Lastly the shower was HORRIBLE! It kept randomly going freezing cold and taking 5 minutes to come back to temperature, on the morning we checked out, I couldn't even have a shower, after waiting 10 minutes for it to warm up with no result, I gave up. Wouldn't recommend at all.
However, the on-site restaurant was excellent, although a little expensive, but we found this to be normal for the hanmer area.
