Great service and friendly staff. Really tasty food with good variety, and great value for money. We often go to Foundation Bar!

The team is very friendly, informative and I believe truly proud of what they serve. We were recommended the Matariki special - Herb Stuffed Otorohanga pork loin served with smoked purple kumara puree, watercress oil, braised cabbage parcels, roasted cherry tomatoes and Pukekawa agria potato game chips.
It was awesome. It tasted fantastic, it looked great and the presentation with the smoke from the glass was excellent. So glad I followed the recommendation of the waitress.
Highly recommended! Kudos to the chef and his team, Dave and his team front of house!

The food is yum and they give you decent servings. The staff are friendly and its reasonably priced. We have been a few times now love it. The lamb shank is pretty good!

Great service from the manager of the establishment, a British gentleman whose name I unfortunately can't remember.
The rest of the bar and restaurant staff were harried and busy and didn't provide as good a service as the manager.
I had lamb and it was nice.
The house red wine was very nice too.

The atmosphere in Foundation Bar is brilliant on a Friday night, very busy but not so busy that you can't hear yourself think. We were with a group of about 14 friends and the waitress was very helpful advising us that if we wanted to eat soon, she advised us to order soon as it got very busy, very quickly. We weren't in a hurry and when we did order she said it would be about an hour, which was fine. The food was well worth the wait. The food was excellent and the portions were better than I expected. I would definitely recommend trying the Pork Belly.........absolutely to die for!
