Harbourside Grill

Loved this restaurant. Our meals came out quickly & they were amazing.

Lovely setting with harbour view. Serving staff were very attentive and knowledgeable of their beverages and menu with a nice ‘kiwi’ attitude. Food was exquisite with both the steak and fish cooked perfectly.

Best fries in Dunedin. Hands down. But the fish burger and the seafood pot was very average.
If you like seafood with strong coconut broth then you'll like the seafood pot. I found the coconut broth too overpowering.

This is where my partner proposed. While the setting was amazing and very romantic, the food was terrible! A very very long wait for overcooked meat with undercooked vegetables. If your chef can't cook parsnip or broccoli then i suggest you find a new one. Oh and the mashed potato was that instant kind you get in a packet from the supermarket. They had also run out of most of their beer options, and i had to have my lamb saddle replaced with hoggart saddle because they'd run out of that too.
For the rather high prices we expected far better food, or atleast freshly mashed potato, not something from a packet.

I went here the other day with a group of 10+ people and was super impressed! I'm vegan so I didn't expect there to be much I could eat (I was fully prepared to eat a bowl of fries and be happy) but to my surprise there is a whole 'Plant Based' section on the menu, and most of the sides are vegan too! I got the Cauliflower Steak that had chimichuri sauce, hummus, crispy chickpeas, and I got a side of fries and breads/dips. I wish a got a garden salad instead of bread because I was SO full!! The cauliflower steak was DELICIOUS! I thought the sides were a little expensive, but yum. The cauliflower steak was $29 which for a piece of cauliflower is pretty pricey, however it was SO tasty that it was worth it. I left very full of delicious food and very happy :)
