Welcome to Hadley & Robinson Ltd, a firm established in Dunedin in 1968 and still based there. We are a company of consulting engineers specialising in civil, structural and fire engineering. We undertake building projects that range from housing to large industrial complexes. We also act as consultants in other diverse fields such as radio transmission masts, freight containers, bridges, wharves and other marine structures, and agricultural structures. We are involved in the strengthening of buildings, especially those of historical or heritage significance. We are consulted for specialist advice by such groups as territorial authorities, insurance assessors and companies, Heritage New Zealand and the Department of Conservation. We are members of The Association of Consulting Engineers New Zealand Inc.(ACENZ), Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) and the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE). We believe that a project needs to be defined in the earlier stages of planning. If proper solutions so require, specialist advice should be engaged. A collaborative approach that involves the whole team the client, consultants and contractors is favoured. Alternatives should be explored and the best overall solutions identified early, as no degree of sophistication can remedy poor initial choices.
