Best Cafe

Was yummy.
Was great to have my 1st feed of oysters for the year, but was a little disappointed that we were charged full price for a product that had been frozen.
We knew we were not getting fresh as out of season but a discount recognising they not fresh so not premium would have been nice.
But other than that, top notch meal and service

what more could you want. Oysters of course - lost of oysters. Cant wait for season to come around again! If you want F&C's in Dunedin this is the place.

Really old fashioned retro feel about this small cafe not far from the town central octagon. We came across it by chance on our wanderings & decided on the famous blue cod. We were not disappointed either was succulent & fresh- melted in the mouth

Food was ok. Lady took so long to put bill through the till that the food was cold by the time we got to eat it

I want to say this is the best fish and chips you can find in the Dunedin area. Dining in the restaurant is fun if you’re looking to experience going back in time to see what it’s like eating in a restaurant in 1970s. I wouldn’t recommend to do this more than once because the pricing for dine-in is higher than takeaway. They have a great selection of fish and I usually go for the blue cod. The batter is so light and the fish really just melts in your mouth. I would eat here more often if it was in a more convenient location as there is limited on street parking near the restaurant. Highly recommend.
