Alley Cantina Restaurant

Alley Cantina is a hidden gem, tucked down an alleyway off Dunedin's main street. They have the best chimichangas around and serve tasty home-made corn chips. The decor is festive, lively and quirky. Sombreros are provided and the margaritas are served by the jug. Often a rowdy spot on the weekends, but quieter during weekdays.

The staff are very friendly. Their quesadillas are highly recommended. It can get busy on weekend evenings, so I suggest making a booking in advance.

Really cool place, fun vibe. We have the veggie option but subbed out any cheese or sour cream to make it vegan. It was still very flavour full and delicious! Loved the guacamole!

What a fun place to eat. Hidden away down an alley from George Street, not far from the octagon is this massive mexican joint that comes with a dance floor. Here you get to indulge in strawberry margariras and jalapeno poppers. The menu has all your mexican essentials rich in cheese and flavour and the interior artwork is mesmerising. Definitely a place to be on a Friday night.

Went out for a birthday dinner so I expected the food to be slow since there were so many of us. Surprised as all the food was served hot and quick to the table. The majarita jugs and food was delicious. Highly recommend if you like food with a bit of bite!
