Alley Cantina Restaurant

Alley Cantina is a hidden gem, tucked down an alleyway off Dunedin's main street. They have the best chimichangas around and serve tasty home-made corn chips. The decor is festive, lively and quirky. Sombreros are provided and the margaritas are served by the jug. Often a rowdy spot on the weekends, but quieter during weekdays.

Margherita are amazing! Anchors and tacos are always good in size and flavour! Great range of drinks including cocktails! Churros to end !

The closest thing to authentic Mexican food you will find in New Zealand! Food is amazing as are drinks which are cheap. I leave feeling so full every time as the meals are huge. Staff are always really nice and down to earth. The atmosphere in here is really retro and cool. Will come back again and again.

Went out for a birthday dinner so I expected the food to be slow since there were so many of us. Surprised as all the food was served hot and quick to the table. The majarita jugs and food was delicious. Highly recommend if you like food with a bit of bite!

In Dunedin not that much options for Mexican food but this the one you definitely love it.
