The starters chicken Pate is a must try and the garlic bread was fab. Great service, fabulous meals at a very good price. I had the salmon & my friend had the steak, both were perfect.

We'd been hearing about whitebait from the tour guides on our trip, and I wanted to make sure that I'd tried it before we left New Zealand. We asked some local folks where we might find it. This was the only place they could think of that had it on their regular menu.

We were staying in the central business district and didn't have a car, so we had to take a taxi to get here. We stopped into the lounge for drinks. It was lively -- a big rugby crowd. The bartenders were friendly, but we had to order our drinks at the bar.

We'd made a dinner reservation, and were seated indoors for dinner. It was noisy, and in retrospect we wished that we'd requested a seat on the patio. It probably would have been quieter out there.

I was glad that I'd had the chance to taste whitebait (whole juvenile fish scrambled into an egg patty). It wasn't bad; they say that the taste grows on you. My husband ordered the pork belly, which was very good.

Great priced meals. I've had the pork belly and the steak and both were delicious. Probably don't go if you have a slight headache as the noise will give you a full blown one! However, the food quality along with the price makes this a definite place to visit.

Very reasonable dinner specials. Our dishes were tasty and flavorful. Service is great.

Great for families and bigger groups. Great food. Bit loud when the band starts though.
