Kinji Japanese Restaurant

We had a larger booking, but the service was still fast and our servers were beyond lovely! The fish was some of the freshest we have ever had and presented so beautifully. Thank you to the team at Kinji for the great experience!

Superb food. The seating is weird especially the tables in the middle of the restaurant-directly under the AC/heat pump and in front of the door.

Best Japanese restaurant in Christchurch. It's usually booked out, so I would recommend making a reservation otherwise you may be disappointed if you try to get a table just walking in. The restaurant is not huge, but the menu is fantastic and the food is divine. The service is excellent. Can BYO wine if wanted. We went on my partner's birthday - because he had been given a birthday card they picked up on this and brought a complimentary dessert for us to share. It was not something I would have picked off the menu from the description of it, but it was absolutely delicious, and I thought the gesture was extremely kind and generous. Street parking is available outside, but it is a busy place with other food establishments near by, so you may not be able to park directly outside - be prepared to walk a short distance - it is worth it!

A suburban gem, some of the best Japanese food in Christchurch hidden away in this little spot. The staff here are super friendly and we enjoyed our date here.

The food is alright but don't know how to order the ones that are not on the menu. Which is quite hard. Highly recommend the photos we see people share could be on the menu to be ordered.
