Welcome to The Garden Restaurant - we are a buffet restaurant that provides delicious Asian and local favourite meals in the heart of Christchurch City. Open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, we are part of the Garden Hotel Complex and can also provide breakfast for those staying in the hotel. Our menu soups, fried food, international cuisine, seafood and carvery - but what we are really known for are our mouth-watering desserts! Be sure to try our hot date sticky pudding with custard sauce or the famous New Zealand pavlova. Our relaxed and friendly environment is perfect for any occasion - from a family meal out to an intimate meal for two. I went to this restaurant while travelling to Christchurch. delicious food and amazing service.

I went here for an all you can eat buffet with my partner last saturday! Buffet had a wide range of food and was topped up regularly and kept fresh and warm. The staff were friendly and polite. Wasn't the most fancy food but definitely good value for money!

Book a table outside and enjoy the food
The first time we ended up this restaurant we had gone without any reservation, and that is how we ended up in another beautiful gem, the lighthouse. However, this time, we did call up, reserve and end up having food there.
You cannot park the car outside, and there are high chances that you miss the restaurant while driving even though it is on the main road. There is a paid parking beside, where you could park for 3 euros per hour.
Sitting outside would be actually lovely, though we missed on saying that, and so went inside. However, I feel it was beautiful outside.
To start with, the waitress was an absolute sweetheart, she helped us out in knowing the favorites, and more about the dishes. So full points on this
We ordered from a huge array of selections. A garden salad, dimsums, tiger prawns, sushi, cheese spring rolls, brochette, frog legs, quinoa salad. And we liked everything we ordered (except for the frog legs). The salads were fresh, dimsums nice, and brochette spot on and the drinks perfect for summer.
Would definitely recommend it to my friends who love non vegeterian, however, the choices are a bit limited for vegeterian people. Go on, book a table and have fun. You will love the food, and the way it is done.

Yummy food, heaps of choices. One of the best buffets I've been to, staff were super nice and helpful. Has a few vegetarian options and a large selection of meat and seafood. They even have an ice cream machine so great for the kids

Food was good. Range of foods from starters to cheeses.
The plates are very small so several return trips to smorgasbord.
I personally would have preferred easier access to cutlery nearer tables
Restaurant could do with updating.
