Christchurch Airport is the gateway to the South Island, which has long been the brand engine room of New Zealand. It is the busiest and most strategic southern air connection to the world's trade and tourism markets, having welcomed a record 6.7 million passengers last year. There is nowhere in the world you can't reach internationally by flying out of Christchurch.

Nice refurbishments since the quake... however it takes FOREVER to walk to some of the gates, and on returning, its a real hike to get to the terminal from the plane!

A clean and tidy airport. Lots of parking (although it is expensive). Staff are helpful and friendly. Good layout and easy to find where you need to be.

Good airport with handy drop off area outside for relatives dropping or picking up. Inside there's a good range of cafes and food for the size of the airport, never a long wait for security either to get airside. Facilities are clean and there's lots of powerpoints for charging devices!
