Antarctica New Zealand is the government agency charged with carrying out New Zealand's activities in Antarctica supporting world leading science and environmental protection. Our vision is: Antarctica and the Southern Ocean - valued, protected, understood. We work to ensure that Antarctica's environment continues to be protected, that scientists are supported to find the answers to complex scientific questions, and that science outcomes are communicated back to policy makers and the public. With almost 60 years' experience working in Antarctica, New Zealand is recognised a leader in the international treaty system, and has a strong commitment to the natural environment.

A very interesting and unique place to take the whole family to. Activities like a snow-mobile ride, snowstorm, 4D cinema, and playing with huskies make this place a must see if you're in Christchurch.

Amazing! I booked a birthday party here for my seven year old, we had six kids with us. Started with a Haglund ride then a tour, a scavenger hunt, looking at the penguins followed by a private party room with food and finally a 4D movie. The kids absolutely loved it (so did we). Finally they all got to pat the huskies. Highly recommend and the seven year old said ‘best party ever’.

Such great entertainment!
This place is so much fun and educational. Lots of displays about the Antarctic and the history.
Snowstorms, penguins and huskies add to the fun and make it well worth a visit.
Lots of free parking, refreshments and close to the airport make this well worth a look

We went to our granddaughters birthday party that was held here. Our granddaughter, her friends and us really enjoyed it. Well organised and plenty to do it was a fun party for kids & adults. Highly recommend.
