Really like Wagamama’s Japanese fusion style menu, and wasn’t disappointed with the food and service at Wagamama Newmarket. Great options for all tastes. Really like the pad Thai style dish as well as karage chicken. Delicious!

We came here after work for dinner and gathering. It was one of the weekdays night and the restaurant was very empty. We were welcomed by the friendly staff and seated immediately. Given that there was only one other table except us, food didn't come as quickly as I thought. We weren't impressed by them at all, honestly none of them :( if it wasn't for the friendly and great smile staff I might have rated 1.0 sorry to say that. I had the warm chilli tofu salad and the portion is just too pity to be a main. It was served in a big plate but the portion is just a little bit more than a side garden salad that we can usually get. For that they charged $19! My friend had teriyaki beef donburi and it was the same, pity portion in big bowl. The breadcrumbs in yasai katsu curry has got unpleasant oil smell. We had banana katsu and apple cinnamon gyoza for dessert. Both are deep fried and had the unpleasant oil smell so makes me wonder what oil are they using...... I actually look at their website before going and perhaps I have too high expectation therefore were quite disappointed

Great food, friendly and efficient service, great food at a reasonable price. Good selection of beers. Always really fresh and tasty food

Service was lacking, had to call the waitress over when we needed her, otherwise she didn't check on us. A small bug flew into my wine and they reluctantly replaced it. Food was delicious though, so that was good!

Good food, but food prices are higher than nearby Hassan and other similar restaurants. That said, the range of meals is impressive, and anything with rice noodles quite tasty from my experience. Side dishes like karrage chicken were good too - about $12 each, as opposed to the mains which are $18 - $24 average.
None of the portions are huge for the money. I've had better sized meals elsewhere. But the food here is hot and authentic.
Recommend visiting with an Entertainment Book voucher or similar which will save you about 25% off the normal prices - making this far more reasonable.
Seating is on long bench tables, in keeping with Japanese restaurant culture. Great for family outings and big groups, probably not the best for a romantic dinner for 2 (as you might be seated across the table from each other, and possibly sharing).
Good value overall, and a nice place for an evening meal.
