Valentines Licensed Buffet Restaurants

Valentines is a bit outdated and should really upgrade their menu, but the wairau road one in particular has a homely feel to it. I like the desserts, and these seem to change slightly each time we've been. Their apple crumble is really good, and I also enjoy the brandy snaps. The baked fish here is also really really yummy and so creamy.

One of the few all you can eat for a set price restaurants that I know of in New Zealand. Prices are not cheap, circa $40 a head. Food is ok and variety is wide. I would not say the food is top quality and don’t go thinking it is anything like the US equivalents because it is not. The waiting staff are brilliant and have a tough job. I take my hat off to them. Baby chairs are available and the staff take care of you.

Definitely one of the more clean & tidy of the group. Bathrooms always clean and decent size. Staff super quick to clear away used plates and always happy to have a quick word. A good place for a large group celebrating a special occasion. Probably best suited to those with younger children and the oldies love the dessert selection. But main food selection could be better, pretty basic stuff most of the time considering the prices, but guess it suits the clientele they are catering for.

Okay i was really sceptical when going to valentines after hearing that they had gone down hill. And fortuna was booked out on my daughters birthday so we chose this location and i highly recommend. Food was amazing. Was clean /tidy/ well presented. I even convinced other family to give another go and they were impressed too.

Valentines, in Wairau Road, is a great place to dine at. The restaurant is kept spotless, the food is cooked fresh and regularly topped up. Your table is cleared promptly and the staff are really friendly and attentive. Valentine's buffet caters for everyone and you can eat as much or as little as you like, for the one price. If it's your birthday, take another two guests and the birthday person doesn't have to pay at all. It's great for large groups as well. There's a pokie machine room for adults as well, should you have a wait for your table.
