The Culpeper

This place is pleasant. The service was good. Unfortunately the food let it down. Had a birthday dinner there with 6 people. However none of us was satisfied with the food. My fish was plain and watery. Fried chicken was too dry even if we had it with the dipping sauce. No dish we were impressed with.

Had dessert here with a group of four, and coffee. Their pies - especially the lime one - are really good, well worth coming here just for this. Their coffees were well presented, however they did have a strong burnt taste, which is always a letdown in my opinion.
Will definitely come back for dessert though.

We had an amazing lunch at Culpeper, we enjoyed tasting plates and beautiful NZ wine, whilst sitting in the sun on the harbour. The staff were helpful and informative, seriously a great spot to stop.

The Culpeper on Princess Wharf in CBD is a perfect spot to stop in for a cooling beverage and to enjoy sea vessels come into dock. We ordered shared cocktails of Pims Cup and Pinot Noir Sangria and enjoyed leisurely sips and great conversation in the early afternoon. The restaurant staff were great, very attentive and the restaurant was very impressive looking inside, not to mention the menu. A special mention has to extend to their bathrooms, very nice! I’d like to return to dine in lunch rather than just drinks next time. Highly recommended!
