Looking for a place to grab a quick lunch or a place to snack at while you have a few drinks with your mates? I couldn’t think of a more perfect place to do that than at the Bluestone Room. They have just recently launched their new Express menu and there has been so much hype for it since. I went to check it out myself and got a taste of what the excitement was all about! Indeed, their new menu ticks all my boxes and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They serve all their express menu dishes in a cute open box wrapped in takeaway sheets. This idea is perfect for those who just want to grab a quick lunch or snack or to takeaway and enjoy elsewhere if the bar isn’t your scene. I love this new idea as even if I didn’t want to drink or wanted to eat somewhere quiet - their new express idea allows me to do just that and I wouldn’t have to miss out on their delicious food!
I was generously offered to try their “Deep Fried Box” filled with a mixture of goodies such as samosas, spring rolls, chicken wontons, prawn twisters and fish bites. This dish was definitely the winner for the night! For only $13.50 you get a box filled with snacks to accompany your drink - couldn’t ask for anything better.
Also tried their “Shrimpy Boy” and “Bluestone Burger” which was also delicious! The beef was tender and the fried egg and bacon gave the burger the extra flavour. They have a few veggie options also and a range of sides to pair with your mains! Their portions are generous and the variety is more than enough to pair with your favourite drink!
The location is 18+ as it is a pub/bar environment however on selected nights, they have a live DJ, which hypes up the mood of the place and everyone can have a good time!
Their service wasn’t as good as expected as no one greeted us as we walked in however we just found our own seats and discovered you actually order at the counter.
Would recommend public transport or Uber as I wouldn’t want you to miss out on their drinks also!

This is probably my favourite pub in New Zealand. It's in one of the oldest buildings in Auckland with original kauri roof beams. Inside it has the oldest well in Auckland covered with glass. It serves the best beer in New Zealand - Monteiths Golden Lager. The food is great, the ambience is great. Go there.

Best pub quiz in Auckland. $30 beer towers during happy hour and the old historic building makes for a great atmosphere!!!

The Bluestone Room is a great place to go for aferwork drinks, the happy hour being extemely good. Check out the beer towers, they are great value and saves hitting the bar each time for a fresh drink. The buffalo wings are a must try!

CBD location makes it really busy after work for drinks, especially Friday. Has the sports on, but music playing instead of the sound and doesn't really have a sporty feel. Staff do a good job of making you feel welcome. Can get cramped when bustling.
