The Blue Breeze Inn

I've been here a number of times with different groups of friends. It's the location that's the best part of this establishment - right at the front of Ponsonby Central. The atmosphere is terrific. But the food is over priced for what it is, and the portion size does not reflect how much you're actually paying for the dishes. I am somewhat surprised at the lack of service here. There doesn't seem to be a system or consistency with the wait staff. They don't make an effort in remembering who ordered what, and even when we are sharing the plates they'd randomly put dishes in front of individuals. If you're just coming here for drinks then moving on for dinner elsewhere then that's ideal. There are better Asian fusion restaurants in the vacinity.

We went on a Saturday night so it was pumping. The cocktails were delicious, the wait staff were wonderful and very friendly. Food was incredible. Despite being really busy, we never felt rushed or hurried to give up our table. Highly recommend for a great night out.

Great vibe but the tables are so close together you can’t even have an intimate conversation with the person you came with because the people next to you can hear everything you’re saying. Really friendly staff and super quick service. Pricey but what do you expect in Ponsonby.

We went without a booking a managed to get a table no problem but they were very busy so I think any later and we may have had a wait. Either way, they were happy to seat us without a booking. The food is to die for and such a vibrant atmosphere. Highly highly recommend the chocolate pot for dessert - share between two as it's very rich but worth saving room for! :)
