Tanpopo Ramen

Restaurant can pack up a full house because of its size but its ramen and gyozas are good

The ramen bowls of soup at Tanpopo Ramen Hawick are as good as those at the Anzac St sister branch, generous, flavoursome and absolutely delicious.
I got to try the Tanpopo Ramen with a creamy pork base and since we dined during their happy hour, we were treated to complimentary pickled bamboo and edamame beans. We also tried the grape and apricot Japanese soda cocktails which were refreshing and effervescent and the perfect cooking treat.
We had also ordered the chicken karaage which was underwhelming as it seemed like straight forward fried chicken without any particular coating, not to mention the meat was slightly pink. Not a fan to order that again however the soups were amazing!

Everything about this is Ramen Ya is wonderful. Run down ambience Asian food court, lovely service with free ocha (Japanese tea), perfect handmade noodles choice if thick or thin, fantastic broth.

The restaurant is a bit small but they have 2 tables that are good for 7-8 pax, 3 tables good for 4 and 3 tables good for 2...however, their food and service are actually good..this is a place to go to if you want it quiet with not too many people dining.. Ramen is their specialty and its yummy for a affordable price...i also tried their branch in the city which is bigger and more people dine in..
