Lovely atmosphere & even better food - it is a super place to wind down & relax over a couple of beers & yummy food.

Dined here a month ago wow yummy food cool overlook of the river and fantastic service.

Usually pretty good! Came here on Father’s Day and both of mine and my husbands poached eggs were basically hard boiled inside, sent them back, and we unfortunately were the very last ones to eat our lunch at the table. Another member of our party’s had the seafood chowder but it was like water with a few shells in it. Had to also ask for some bread with it because it came with none. The next day we were invited to dinner at the Riverhead and a member of our party ordered the chowder and it had actually looked like chowder! It was creamy, thick and had a lot more shells in it. Wasn’t impressed with the inconsistency. It seems to be a regular pattern now. Seems like that portage bar food is better these days than the actual restaurant food.

Came here a few weeks ago for dinner. Love the location and the staff are really friendly. The food is amazing, had the burger which was really good. Prices are really affordable and the have a great drinks list. Would definitely recommend.

The riverhead is a great bar to stop in for a pint on a sunday arvo!
