My favourite food! Super healthy, fast, delicious and reasonably priced. My one and only choice for a quick lunch.

Do not eat here if you are celiac. I will never trust this company again. My partner and I went to the Manukau Westfield Pita Pit for lunch last Saturday. I advised the staff I was celiac and ordered the gluten free roast lamb Pita. When the Pita was being made I overheard the Manager telling another employee off as she scrambled to take my Pita out of the sandwich press and grab what looked like baking paper. Having seen the Manager telling off the other employee I guessed that the Pita perhaps had been placed on the sandwich press and exposed to gluten but believed that this would be resolved by a new gluten free Pita being made. Unfortunately this was not the case and not long after I ate the Pita I became sick and was upset that the Pita had in fact been contaminated with gluten. When I raised this issue and my concerns with the Manager I was told that "she is new". When I raised that I had seen him scolding his worker and asked if it had been due to the fact that he had seen the Pita being cross contaminated he became silent. It appears to me that the Pita Pit in Manukau is more concerned about saving money than the health risks associated with cross contamination for customers with celiac disease. I am thoroughly disappointed and will not be eating there again.
