Persimmon Tree Cafe

Nice cafe tucked away in a country town. nice break from the big smoke. Food was amazing.

Nice Little cafe. Food was fresh and hot and staff were very kind and polite.

I don't usually do this but feel it is necessary in this instance. We called in here on our way home from Auckland (after having a number of not great visits prior, we thought we'd give it another go...), never again! We paid over $60.00 for our lunch (2 iced coffees ($6.50 each for less than a cup of liquid with frothed cream on top), ginger beer, tiny piece of slice - $9.50!, a pumpkin bake thing (small and tasteless!), a chicken bake thing (dry and tasteless) and a chicken, cranberry & brie sandwich ($19.00 - served with a tart flavoured sauce that my two companions said tasted like it had open too long and had gone off!), which took approximately 45 minutes to come out! Very disappointed, needed to stop for a packet of chips at the local shop to actually feel full (and these only cost $2.50).
After a previous trip where they had no gluten free food because they'd run out of corn chips, bad coffee that our friends had, and numerous times of long wait times... I would recommend that you think twice before calling in here. Sorry Persimmon Tree but we won't be back.

Cafe was clean, staff friendly and food served hot as was the coffee. Unfortunately the coffee wasn't amazing, but the iced coffee my friend had was amazing. Has off street parking which is good as the roads can be quite busy with all the travellers passing through.

Enjoyed my morning stop in last week. Cake was nice enough :)
