New World Supermarkets

Kind of more like a four square but it's perfect for the odd grocery. I used to live nearby so would often frequent new world if I needed the basics. Friendly staff with good banter.

Little small store, but serve community well. Will visit again soon

A reduced rating from my original 5 stars over a year ago - because the store has gone through a change of ownership, and since then I've noticed a real reduction in how many items they have when there's an advertised special. Quite often I've gone in after work to get some items on a special (like Pepsi Max at 99c, or chicken breasts at $7.99 a kilo), only to find that there's no stock of those items - and the store doesn't offer rain checks. Apart from that, the store is pretty good and has friendly staff, and the main range of items required. So still worth a visit. And in summer, it's a great place to stop in for supplies on your way to West Coast Auckland beaches. Good car parking out front and to the side of the store.

A small supermarket that stocks the essentials. I've been in a few times to get one of the advertised specials & they haven't had it so I've ended up going to the bigger store in New Lynn. It's quick and easy to get round though and good for top up shops. The staff are always friendly and helpful & great at helping pack bags for me when I'm carrying my toddler. Usually plenty of parking round the back.

This is a small New World, but it's well stocked with all of your favourite grocery lines. Importantly, it carries all of the same specials that bigger New World stores carry, so that buying locally doesn't come at a price premium.

It's open 8am-8pm in the weekends, and 7am-9pm Monday to Friday. Those hours are great for us locals, who can go to the supermarket after work as required.

It doesn't have it's own bakery or deli - instead this New World brings in a range of fresh bakery and deli goods daily, from the bigger New World stores. Again there is no premium on price here - you'll pay the same prices that the bigger stores have like $6.90 per kg for coleslaw, $9.99 per kg of sliced leg ham, $2.70 for 6 pack of bread rolls etc.

The store has a small range of non-food / grocery merchandise, including light bulbs, lunch boxes, some imported gift lines etc. It's pretty much a one-stop shop.

If you spend over $25 in a single transaction you can also get Fly Buys on your purchases - which are always awesome to collect.
