Ken Yakitori Bar

Great food, great K'rd location, low key, open late, kind of an Auckland classic by now. This rustic character restaurant/bar doesn't try to be anything fancy or hip, no designer interior or matey annoying waiters. It's simply about good food and reliable service even at late hours.

Nice staff here, cozy place.Squid was a great salty, chewy starter which led into the beautiful Tataki that was a spicy, cold mixture of lightly cooked middle and well done beef slices that worked well with refreshing salad with it. Dumplings were crunchy bottom and soft top which worked well with spicy pork filling and soy sauce. BBQ char top really brought a new flavour to the dumplings.It is worthy as your money.Highly recommended.

The food has been consistently good and the drink selection has even improved with some Japanese craft beers available lately. Chef did a great job and ensured each type of the yakitori is cooked to thwir prime status.

A nice surprise awaited us once we found and opened the door! Warm and cosy (great on a winter's night) with lovely and attentive staff. The food is amazing, we tried quite a few different things as there are lots of tempting dishes on the menu, most are for sharing. The house Chardonnay was fantastic! Guess we were lucky to score a table, it was the perfect midweek casual dinner with family.
