Best book store in Auckland. Completely huge selection and good prices!

Definitely worth looking for. Being a scifi geek the scifi room is a regular haunt for me. However, the whole place is a throwback to some Victorian book emporium. As you would expect the trade value of paperbacks is negligible but you can score we'll for some antiquarian stuff. You can also get some valuations done on rare stuff if the manager is around.

A one of a kind bookstore. Walls full of books, any kind of genre you could possibly think of, and also very rare items, that you may not even find in a library.

Being an avid book reader and resident of Onehunga for 16 years, I have always loved coming into this place on a rainy day, when trying to hide from impending school exams and also for escaping the outside world. It isn't a library, but the workers don't bother you when you spend hours sitting in one spot in the Psychology section (above the children's section) reading what you've gathered (and it has happened countless times). The majority of my books have come from Hard To Find, with some real treasures popping up from time to time. You can also put books on lay-by as well, which is great for when you find a first edition classic that costs a bit more than $10. The prices for the books are quite reasonable especially with the conditions, and the addition of Music Records (Not CDS) is quite welcome as music and books always go well together. If you do decide to take a gander, I would suggest allowing a couple of hours (or maybe a day!) to really get a feel for this great place.
