Went to Gengis for the first time the other night after heearing raving reviews. Although it was definitely not a "top" place to eat the experience I had was not bad.
This is a buffet style restaurant where you chose your own meat, veg and sauces for the chefs to cook- stir fry style. Prices are reasonable $29 I believe which includes tea, coffee and desert.
The trip up for me in this type of dining is there was lots of trial and error. Because you chose your own sauces its hard to come up with the right combinations to make a tasty dish- I ended up getting full from trying so many different combinations of unenjoyable stirfrys because I was always getting the combos wrong. (My fault I know)
The desert was really a highlight for me. Freshly made pancakes, an choice of different icecream flavours (standard flavours) and different sauces availabe too. They were deliscious!
Drinks were pricey- $15 for a cocktail I though was too strong.
Overall it was an experience, a few things wrong which were mainly my error or part and parcel with what would happen on this type of dining but the staff really made it great.
They were attentive, friendly and prompt to clear your table which I liked
