Dantes Pizzeria

A tiny pizza place packed away in Ponsonby. They boast having won awards for having "the best pizza in New Zealand", but we've had much better (their toppings are on the minimal side, and they're not cheap, either). It's not somewhere you'd go for an intimate meal - they only have a few tables, so we shared ours with 1 other couple and 1 small group, which made for quite a noisy dining experience.

If you can't afford to fly to Naples to try the original pizza, you can always pop in at Dante's in Ponsonby and Takapuna! Their pizza is fantastic, genuine; authentic like the first Margherita. As an Italian in NZ, they allow me to fix my monthly cravings for Italian flavour.

super professional and the bar lady had great tips for vino. The food was amazing and I thank you for having me. My compliments to the Chefs' I know how hard it is. My only regret is not leaving a bigger tip. I shall bring my friends back, to make up for it. Thank you. It was amazing.. Bravo. A top product. Respect
