- We care for the older age group through our Communicare Friendship Centres our guests enjoy numerous crafts, play cards, indoor bowls, enjoy music and relax with friendly company. We are always looking for communicare volunteers to help run the friendship centres
General Info
We are a non-profit multi-cultural organisation which has Friendship Centres throughout South, East, West and Central Auckland for older, lonely or disabled people. Our 23 Friendship Centres, are friendly and welcoming. Communicare CMA has been helping people since 1959, with the aid of our volunteer helpers. Our guests enjoy various crafts, play cards or indoor bowls, enjoy music and relax in the friendly atmosphere. Morning tea and lunch are served at a minimal weekly cost. Most Friendship Centres are open between 9.30 am and 1.00 pm. Communicare depends on volunteer helpers for the running of the Friendship Centres. Do you have some time to give to helping others? Communicare and the supervisor for the centre is very dedicated to what they do, and always put the people first. They organise multiple events and outings throughout the year. They do a great service to the community.

The supervisor responsible for the centre is super friendly and means well. She organises lots of activities and celebrations for members and staff throughout the year. The centre provides a good food selection and outings to members as well.
