Clare Inn Irish Pub

We have dined here twice, food was great both times. The duck is amazing, the sauce, the crispy skin. We also had the lamb rack which was good. Recommendation would be to not come on a night when there is a game at eden park as its far too busy and the wait times are longer than usual!

We had a lovely meal at Clare Inn. The portion sizes were nice and large and we definitely ordered too much food. The atmosphere was maybe a little noisy for a romantic meal, so bear in mind what atmosphere you're looking for before booking, but all in all they are a great restaurant with great food and great service. Also, the cocktails are nice and cheap and yummy.

Lovely little pub which is made even better on live music nights. Great food, friendly staff.

We were greeted by friendly people, seated and given menus right away.

We ordered from the lunch menu and it was fantastic. The food is so well presented and the portion sizes are extremely generous.

The sticky pork ribs were so tender, the meat just slid off the bones with a slight touch. The meat just melted in your mouth and was full of flavour. Generous servings of fries and coleslaw to accompany the meat. Also they give you a lemon hand wash for the ribs.

The sausages and mash with whiskey gravy was an absolute delight. They were generous with the whole plate! Plenty of sausages, a waterfall of sauce, a mountain of whole grain mustard and the highlight for me was the mashed potatoes. By far the best mashed potato I've ever eaten. 5 stars for the mashed potato.

I love the cosy feel, the Irish music and the lovely staff. Next time when its not raining I would definitely like to sit upstairs in the outdoor area!

Great little pub, only wished I lived closer. Slow roasted lamb to die for and of course great beer to boot. Definitely going back when I'm in the area.
