A Ponsonby stalwart - come early or you may not get a seat, anywhere! Sunday sessions are legendary here. It's small, cosy and cute. Food is above gastro pub level and certainly something they put effort and pride into - but more often than not, it's an imbibing, not dining, venue. See the hottest young things and slightly older once were hottest things propped up outside here - great people watching. Good tunes too usually. Try the meatballs. Chapel is a must do pilgrimage.

Great place to drink and catch up with friends. Food is excellent and well priced, a tribute to Luke Dallow who owns this well regarded establishment on Ponsonby Road. Good any night of the week but particularly busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Check out the Sunday afternoon sessions from 3pm with Thane and the guys from George FM mixing on the decks - a very pleasant afternoon of fun and frivolity. Really like the kumara chips here - they're special and a big portion for the price. Pizzas are good too.

Very busy but friendly bar. People always mingle and talk with other groups sitting nearby. Excellent waitress service. Good choice of beers and not particularly expensive given it's prime location.
