Oh how I love this place. Amazing gardens to view (I love the veggie gardens), a huge range of exotic plants and trees (Piranha Pines are my favourite) and the BEST reference library I've ever been to. I love looking through all the herbalist books. The lovely lady who is at the library on a sunday is so helpful and really knows her stuff. Cafe is a bit over priced and always busy, however.

I like going here, have a feed and then wander the garden, so quiet.

Love taking the family to the Botanic Gardens, the walks are great and in the spring and summer, the flowers are stunning. It's great they have a dog walking area where you can let the pups of the lead. The cafe is reasonable cost and they even hold special occasions on the grounds.

On our recent trip from Christchurch to Auckland, we visited Auckland Botanic gardens. What a beautiful place it is! and of course the yummy food at the cafe close to the entry of the place. The garden is spread across acres of land and offers amazing views and a wonderful range of flowers. I really enjoyed the edible garden and the rose garden. It was so big that we had to leave some areas unexplored such as the forest area at the back of the garden. The weather was lovely as well. We spent about 2 hours there and enjoyed every minute of it.
