Aubergine Restaurants

Great food and ambience. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly.

Went there on valentines, nice looking place, was good to have an indoor and outdoor option.

We were only allowed to order an option out of their set menu (which only had two options for each meal and we had to pay $50.00 each whereas we would have been happy to pay less to get less and choose anything we wanted but we were told we aren't allowed.

The entree` was a light healthy option avo's with salmon and salad, there wasn't much but it was nice.
The main I had (Lamb shank) was drenched in a soy sauce like liquid which was too overpowering, I really tried to get through it but did not enjoy it at all and could not finish it. I tried my partner's scorched fillet which was not really much of an improvement either.
This further supports why you should not limit customers choices as the options you provide may not be what's best for their money's worth, their appetite and tastebuds.

We waited for quite some time then the next meal arrived.

We had to ask for water whereas it would have been good if it was set up for us when we were seated or we were asked if we would like any. It was the same with requesting more water, we should have been asked if we would like anymore rather than trying to get someone's attention to get water which isn't an arduous thing to provide.

We waited for a long time for desert which was ordered at the beginning with all other meals through a male waiter.
I overheard a waitress telling people they are closed so the possible customers could not eat there. We were not told about the closure.

I had to walk to the waitress to get her attention and told her we were still awaiting our deserts and I overheard her saying it is closed. She then clarified that the kitchen hasn't closed yet and went to promptly find out what was happening with the desert.

Turns out they had somehow lost the paper with the order.
We finally received the pudding which was one of the better meals.
We were then offered 2 complimentary drinks which seemed good, I asked for two hot chocolates.
We received our drinks and it turned out to be two very strong coffe's which were too strong.

I feel like we were ripped off, not taken seriously, not fully cared for, treated/tended to like we should have been.

Very disappointing..
This was our first and will most definitely be our last visit there.

Nice staff here, cozy place.I ordered short pork ribs. The meat was perfectly cooked, soft, tasty, however it was just too salty. Veggies well cooked, overall presentation of the meal was nicely done.Nice dish, tastes fabulous, great portions. Will be back.Highly recommended.

One of my favorite place to get a meal!! Might I recommend the Lamb Shanks!

We had our Christmas dinner function last week, and the food & service for 38 of us was outstanding. Thank you very much to all the team at Aubergine, well done!
