Arthurs Pass Cafe & Stores

Used to be good and have been a regular customer for many years when in the area but recently with new ownership they have opted to be rid of the grocery shop - a necessity for many locals and passers through - and replaced it with a tourist souvenir shop. I think this is a huge mistake as many people in the area can happily purchase something from the DOC information office if they wanted to, whereas a lot of business was to be had from people needing essentials and food on road trips/camping/tramping trips - especially those hiking long distance where Arthur's Pass is an essential pick up stop. I recommend for something hot to eat however as the menu is quite full of choices to be served up. Can get quite busy at peak traffic times.

Nice place to stop in if you're going through the pass! Enjoyed both the food and drinks :)

Stopped before a couple of walks we did! They have basic food and huge coffees which kept us going for the day!

We stopped in here on our Christmas road trip. It was insanely busy and the wait was too long for a coffee! I brought some cold drinks from their fridge instead. The lady who served me was very rushed and rude - I understand they were busy but customer service is so important regardless of how busy you are.
