Friends Café

Second visit at Gana Cafe in Papamoa. The menu and cabinet had selections of an average suburban cafe. We ordered seafood chowder and buttermilk pancakes. Both were of good portion. Pancakes were fluffy and mascarpone was fresh. Seafood chowder had lots of what seemed like a frozen seafood mix (no traces of fish fillets). The chowder was extremely salty so we requested it to be watered down however sadly it made no difference. The chef replied that she adds a "seafood booster", whatever that is... The waitress was friendly and caring.

Staff seemed nice. Really expensive and food wasn’t even nice. Ordered creamy mushrooms and they were just pan fried. Really disappointed

This cafe is fab. Always great food, friendly staff. Can sit inside or out. Tucked behind a shopping center. Busy place.

Bought a GrabOne voucher for breakfast here, which stated "Try our famous Gana breakfast" etc, only to be told once we got there that the voucher didnt include the Gana breakfast, & only included a very small number of meals (mostly continental).. very badly advertised & miscommunicated. Didnt enjoy the lamb meal (which i ended up paying extra for), but the Cajun Chicken was delicious, & the outdoor tables are lovely in the sun.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, they have "bowl" size coffee which is amazing when you want to extend your coffee date. Will be coming back and recommending
