We were running late for our tour and phoned ahead to ask if we could make the next one - no luck as they were full but they were happy to still allow us on the tour as long as we arrived by the time the tour started (normally ticket issuing concludes 15 minutes before the tour starts) which we were grateful for.
Our guide Isaac was fantastic, really clear and well spoken, highly knowledgeable and clearly keen on the subject he was teaching.
Well worth the money.
Fantastic. My boys and I loved this tour. Well worth the money. Young English guide was amazing and you could tell he loved what he did. Is a wee way out of Wellington cbd but easy to get there by bus if you don’t have a car.
We did both tours weta workshop and Thunderbirds, Absolutely magical. Don't do one with out the other they are both so good. Bus driver was lovely, tour guide helpful and full of interesting information. We had done Hobbiton so a carry on from that experience, well worth the $ I think.
Loved this place!! Everything about it was great. It has something for everyone and the tour guides were very interactive and absolutely lovely. We would love to go back again one day. Have recommended to many others
Thus is such an awesome attraction. All the family loved it, well worth the price if the tour, you get to hold some real movie props, and the staff are fantastic. For a movie lover it is the perfect place, we will visit again.
The weta cave is an awesome little place, my son loved it! there is a short film to watch for free, but maybe a bit of a line, but watch it if you can, some really cool props from movies that you wouldn't normally see! I recommend you pop in,some cool photo ops too! There is free street parking in the area.
This is a really amazing tour. Highly recommended for movie buffs as they go in to all the detail of making costumes. I had no idea some of the wigs are hand sewn with rel hair imported from Russia (sorry spoiler alert). A really great way to spend a few hours and learn more about the movie and special effects industry
Didn't do the tour here, but went in to see what it was like. Lots of collectables for fans of LOTR and the Hobbit, as well as other films Weta has been involved with. Felt more like an expensive giftshop to me, to be honest, but there were some props from the movies on display as well, which were pretty cool.
I visited here as part of the Hop on Hop off tour. A great little place if you are interested in Hobbits and the such. Interesting thing to purchase if you are a collector. Well worth the visit.
