decent community pools, does get very busy especially on the weekend. Prices are reasonable (free for under 16s) and there are good facilities, great adult old spa and the slide and wave pool is fun for the kids.
Because it is a council operated pool, it can get extremely busy in the weekends. It pays to go early in the morning if you are wanting to get in a decent swim before the crowds start turning up. Have a good selection of food in here as well, the sushi is pretty nice.
I have been here a few times and needs a bit of a improvement and hope that the temperature gets warmer as depending on which pool you enter, it can be warm or cold and a good place and pricing can be cheaper if you buy a deal one.
Love the water slide and hotpools for the adults, defiantly need to pick when you go as its pretty much the only public pools in West Auckland so it gets very busy. Only thing I don't like is that the changing rooms / toilets are usually not very clean.
Can be very crowded in school holidays and after school hours because of swimming lessons. But during the day it is a lot quieter. Still a great place to bring the kids. Would reccomend mothers with young ones to enroll them in the swimming lessons they offer here. They're great. And have classes to suit the level of your child.
This place gets super busy.
You could be waiting in the queue sometimes too long to even enter.
They do have few options to consider from plus a slide.
Pricing is ok, bought something on discounted price from them, nice spot and free parking at the front.they could do few new things there but still not that bad.
Gym, classes, cardiovascular activities, swimming practice, sauna, spa, kids pool, normal pool, slides, jumping, family area so you name it and they mostly have got it. Closer to my home.
I wish they would put non slip padding or something in the kids small pool it is so slippery, i saw a small child fall over and hurt herself, could be quite dangerous. Prices are ok, we only go during the week days as weekends are far to busy.
I have only been once and it was an average experience. We also had trouble just swimming around as the wave pool is actually not that large for the amount of people there as it is split into sections. The 'shallow end' where we were with the kids was pretty crowded. Appears to look dated and tired but I think they have had renovations in recent years so perhaps that is not the case - just a feeling I got. The changing facilities are spacious and weren't too crowded which was good. We didn't go on the slides but those who were looked like they had fun.
A good place to keep your children entertained all day - the only thing is, you need to be there early before it gets too busy, it does get quite packed, to the point that you can really 'swim', but just stand in the pool. The kiddy pool is freezing, and they could make it heated. Other than that, its ok, but could do with an upgrade.
Waited 1 hour to get into the pools today as supposedly over crowded. More than 50 left the pools but no a single person was let in until they did a head count. Understand it is too hard for lifeguards to watch too many people in the water but an hour wait is really unexceptable. Thank goodness I didn't have my 15 month old granddaughter with me. I'm ringing first next time and will be movies or chipmunks if there's a wait that long. Great time once you get in.
What a great afternoon for the kids. Supervised 'Bombs' off the diving boards, Hydro slide, river ride, main wave pool and several other fun areas for our three school aged kids to enjoy. Reasonable cafe food for young and old and good coffee as wel.
It's ok, when you have kids - lots of fun waves and pools. I don't like though that you should pay extra for the rides, and if you do there is no one to check you at times, so a lot of people either abuse it, or just being negligent. A little bit annoying that there is no swimming for infants and the water temperature in the kids pool is a bit cold at times.
Came here with my young daughter yesterday following the recommendation of a friend. Wow. When we entered, the reception had a sign apologising for the lower water temperature, considering we came on a particularly cold Auckland day, this was most unfortunate as it ruined our trip.
We pretty much gave up after 20 minutes. The only place you could feasibly enjoy was the spa, the kids pool and the environment in general was just FREEZING.
Facilities feel a bit old and run-down now, maybe we are spoilt by the Tepid baths who knows. Unfortunate we came on such a cold day but still, come on folks.
