Awesome venue, with a big garden heated if want to enjoy a chilly weather out. Nice dancing floor, delicious burger, good variety of red wines. Plus always a gig on the weekend.
Also is a fantastic option for group events. Is always a place to see what's on.
This place does everything. Pub quiz on Tuesdays, outside garden bar, live music , dinner lunch, a small conference area for big groups with its own bar , even knitting on Mondays. The staff are friendly and the decor is retro chic.
I visit the Southern Cross on a regular basis - often go with colleagues for lunch. Open Steak Sammy - yumo, nice hot chips on the side. Rather busy pub with lots going on. Family friendly - lots of neat places to hide out, lovely garden bar outside. Staff are always friendly. Great place to meet and chat.
Great place on a Winters lunchtime with the Fire Blazing - very welcoming.
We couldn't sit in the lounge area because it was already booked out but there are so many little areas to choose from, with there own feel.
The outside area is unique with the trees and lanterns and that outdoors but closed in feeling at the same time.
I only went in for coffee and cakes this time but have eaten there many times and never been disappointed with what I had ordered.
Best garden bar I've been too. 2-4-1 Stone Grills are always brilliant, great menu selection for both stonegrills and the normal al a carte. Atmosphere is great on any night, staff are always helpful and friendly. Overall amazing place!
Amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere. My favourite place to meet for a drink. Perhaps not best for those who like stricter service, with waiters coming to them for food/drink orders etc, the place is big so service is more relaxed. Not necessarily a bad thing, depends on what type of experience you're after. Highly recommend.
Best garden bar in Wellington!
They make great use of such a big space. The staff are always lovely and very accommodating.
The food is delicious and the waiting time is never too long, irrespective of how busy the bar is!
Definitely a must-go in Wellington!
Fantastic garden bar, with Giant Jenga! Reasonably priced drinks, and the food is amazing quality. Love the little cheerio sausages.
Good prices on jugs. But the rekorderlig cider is rather dear :(
Brilliant place to hang out and catch up with mates, occasional live music, dancing, and of course sunshine and jenga!
