Really enjoy visiting Snow Planet, the kids enjoy the snowboarding, skiing or donuting on the snow slops. The staff are friendly and the lessons are helpful for children or people who haven't ever taken part before. The cafe on site is warm and serves a variety of hot drinks which is great when going off the cold slops.
Too expensive for my liking, so is a treat for me when I do eventually go. I dont own any snow gears, and hiring them here costs an arm and a leg. Yummy restaurant on-site and you can dine while watching all those on the slopes. It can be a bit daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, its all fun and games!
Loads of fun. Very cold though. There is an escalator in the middle of the skifield that saves you time and energy from walking to the top of the slope. You can hire gears from here if you dont have warm clothing yourself, but it isnt cheap so I dont recommend it. Its great fun for both adults and children, and you can end your night on a hot meal in the restaurant inside.
Just got home from snowplanet with my work crew and we had a blast! We are all beginners when it comes to skiing, but it didnt take too long to get the hang of it. Lots of room to practice and an escalator should you feel the need to use it rather than your legs haha. What topped it off was the wedges and pizzas we had right by the fire afterwards in the restaurant onsite, pure bliss!
The tubing is pretty fun, and no wasting energy climbing back up the hill as there is an escalator to take you back to the top. Kids loved it. It does get a bit cold though, even if you are lathered up in clothing, but the cafe inside has a warm fireplace and they make really yummy pizza and wedges.
First world run outfit. Good facilities, staff and food. Well worth the drive from Auckland. Owners know how to run a business and attention to detail noted here. Love the viewing area, whilst you eat. Also caters fro little kids with their tubes. Well Done Guys
Have been here on numerous occassions, and have loved it everytime (which is why I keep coming back). It can get expensive if you are taking your family, and dont have suitable clothing yourself and end up hiring gears, but once you have your own gears to take each visit, its not that expensive at all. Can have hours and hours of fun on the slopes, and finish the day off with a hot meal in the cafe there.
Have been here many times since they have opened and love it. Space is reasonable with a variety of terrains. Staff are friendly and helpful. Love the onsite restaurant :) Pricing can be expensive if there is more than one of you but if you ski / snowboard on a regular basis it is alot more affordable than a trip down to the mountain. They have alot of deals when you can go in the evening (and it is much cheaper) and there are other places where you can also get deals, overall it is definitely worth a visit.
I don't go very often but do try to go. Love it how it gets so cold in there and you can experience places like other ski parks though not the natural feeling. Pricing is on the higher side but I keep my eye on the vouchers or offers. Love that they have the food option available, parking at the front, you can hire gear too and you do have the options to chose from. Service wise I have found the staff nice.
