On Monday the 26 September 2016 my Partner and I had decided to have a Trek with Sandy Bay Horse Trekking and our guide was Lauren.
During the Trek unfortunately a couple of children on bicycles spooked my horse, resulting in my horse bolting and throwing me off into the gravel.
Whilst I understand that this was an accident and not the guides fault, I was disgusted in the treatment or lack there of from our guide after the horse had thrown me off as I was laying face down in the gravel in agony screaming and crying for help as I thought I might have broken my spine or hip, and the guide simply sat on her horse holding the other 2 horses watching the incident and didn't say a word or try to help in any way. My husband was the only one who came to my aid.
All the Guide was interested in was harassing me to sign an accident report, of which I refused to sign 3 times as I was in need of medical assistance, so my husband and I drove 20 mins from Sandy Bay horses and en route to the hospital the pain got so bad that we had to pull over for an ambulance to take me to the hospital.
At no point during this incident did the guide ask to call for an ambulance, try and help me in any way and all she was concerned about that her HORSES were safe and harassing me to sign the accident report. Her number one priority should have been the well being of her client .
I spent 5 hours at the hospital receiving the news that I have badly sprained the joint connecting my hip to my spine as well as a damaged shoulder and cuts and bruises all over the bottom half of my body.
To add further insult to injury it has now been 4 days since the incident and I have not even received any point of communication from Sandy Bay Horse Trekking owner Kylie with regards to the incident or enquiring about my welfare.
I am absolutely disgusted in the lack of compassion this Company has.
I would not recommend trusting these people with your well being.
