The gardens here are just beautiful and are so well maintained. We were not able to go inside as it was closed, but the building is very interesting from the outside so we didn't feel as though we missed out. We did a lovely walk along a lake edge and it was very peaceful.
I loved the facade and architecture of the building. Since it was closed, I walked around the government gardens. There were a few thermal springs within the gardens. An amazing and unique experience for me, especially with the smell of sulphur in the air!
A nice little museum which is alright but nothing impressive on the inside. The museum and government gardens are one of the most photographed places in New Zealand so it is a must-stop-by at Rotorua. Once you have been in the museum, it is well done, but probably not worth going in again.
Love this Museum, wish they would rebuild it, awesome for locals and tourists. Showed our history and was kept beautiful. Staff are lovely and still doing activities around town. Took my kids to the tea rooms for arts and crafts with them and they loved it.
