We went on the cruise from Auckland's Prince's Wharf, under the Auckland Harbour Bridge, past the Chelsea Sugar Works, the Kauri Point Ammunition Dump, Beach Haven, Hobsonville, Herald Island, Paremoremo Inlet and Huapai Golf Course all the way to the Riverhead restaurant and tavern, which happens to be the second oldest licensed premise in NZ. The skipper gives an informative commentary on the way up. It's a beautiful way to see the upper harbour. It takes about 2 hours up on the high tide, and then you stop off at the tavern for a lunch/bar lunch or whatever for a couple of hours, and then it's a leisurely hour and half back down the harbour under the bridge to Prince's Wharf. A fantastic way to spend an afternoon or evening.
