Not able to book appointment, my son was having an allergic reaction and i had to wait over an hour to be seen. Also was told several times my child didnt have bad athsma as i wanted a preventative inhaler insted of a realiver, after changing to swanson medical i was told her athsma is really bad and why wasnt she given a preventative inhaler sooner
they are great people, and only $15 is awesome...however sometimes i need an appointment due to having other things to do, i would be happy to pay $30 just to have a fixed time instead of waiting for hours
The front line admin staff are useless, they forget you have been waiting there even after a nurse has seen you and you are in the que to be seen. These staff don't ever seem to know what they are doing there, and always look confused. To be honest I just drive the extra distance up to the Lincoln Rd Surgery as the medical records are linked and the care and help there is far better. Its the same problem for many years at Ranui Medical Centre, nice modern new practice, but same old admin staff and trouble with incompetency on the front desk. They swan around and ignore patients, even when they are doing nothing.
For my doctors they are absolutely great! That's the reason why I keep coming to Ranui Medical Centre when we are unwell.My doctors look after us well ever since. If it's not for them I wouldn't come back. Nurses so far so good! I don't have problem with the nurses.But the front desk or receptionist some of them shouldn't work there to be honest! Took long to answer the phone or sometimes nobody answer the phone. Quite confusing! when you book an appointment, They told me just come no need to book.But if we come without booking,they asked you if you book? And no booking are made,then have to wait a lot of time till 2 hours .Some of them,ignoring you something like they don't see anyone infront of them. They are the one should greet first not the patient.If they're busy they should let us know not standing there infront of them like a ghost. What is receptionist or a front desk? They should know what it is as a costumer service. They should know,that most patient coming over there are unwell and some of them a lot of pain. But if they ignore or they treated the patient like that our sickness will get worst or if someone has got High blood pressure will get worst. And it says , Respect our staff! Respect has to be earn and if someone provoke you how a person remain silent? Respect is both staff and patient! Just need a better,friendly and smiling receptionist. WIth good communication skills! The only reason I give Ranui Medical one star at all is because I love the two doctors I have dealt with and the nurses are generally great. The admin staff however are worse than useless, they let the phone ring for aaages before they answer it ( Ive been on hold for 20 minutes), and have absolutely no common sense whatsoever. There have been so many instances of their poor management that I wouldn't know where to start, so I'll just leave it that they are 'USELESS'. I have twice complained, but nothing ever changes. If I didn't love my GP so much, I would change clinics, and the minute he retires, I will.
So sick and tired of this place!! Wait times are terrible due to the fact the have only 1 or 2 doctors working. Doctors are horrible don't listen to your concerns and don't complete thorough eximinations - I feel like I waste my money coming here. Reception doesn't even acknowledge you when you are standing right in front of them and they leave the phone ringing when they aren't even with clients. I will be switching clinics.
The young ginger haired girl at the front desk ignored me for about 10 minutes while she sat on her personal phone call. I know it was personal as I was standing right in front of her and could hear every single word.
Hopefully the service improves and she learns some professionalism.
If the service does improve, I will accordingly amend this review.
Friendly and professional medical centre with experienced and caring local doctors and nurses. Brand new facilities with Labtests and pharmacy on site. Very capable with dealing with all medical needs from babies to grandparents, sore heads to stitches. Highly recommended.
