Have been battling for 3 months to get our account sorted. Internet was connected with only 11 day left in the month and they tried to say that we our first month free. Got them to agree this was not right and got a credit 2 months later but our account then said we had an outstanding amount on it even tho we are direct debit. Received numerous emails and letter about restriction of service etc. After over 2 hours on the phone to them over 2 days I thought it was sorted and about 30min after finally hanging up from them I get a txt to say our internet would be block the next day which was the day the direct debit would come out.
NO NZ customer service all overseas based. No chance to talk to anyone directly. Tried over facebook and they said they only work over the phone.
Been with them for many years. They have good speeds, are priced more fairly now than they were a few years ago. Their unlimited plan in a Godsend for our house! And while I wish they had more people in their call centre to answer the phones a bit quicker, when someone does answer, I've usually found the service to be very friendly and helpful.
Lets face it they've had issues with their home voip solutions but that's the same with all the other Telco's. They are a great company built on the hopes and dreams of an owner that was bread out of IHug and that was a great company too. Highly recommended.
I have just moved into a new house and their service was great. Communications of when I'd be connected and couriering out my modem with ample time before I was connected was also speedy. I'm currently happy with their service in the first few days of activity.
I have been with Orcon for a number of years. They are reasonably priced and have a good range of packages to chose from. Like most service providers when you call their call centre it really depends who you get on the day. Some CSR's are great, others average. It's nice to have an alternative to the big players.
I spent 12 months with this company and for at least 8 months i did nothing but battle with them over their shoddy internet service...their customer service did nothing but try and fob me off and their team leaders weren't much better...will never use them again.
